Past Technology:
We call them Dinosaurs. Mostly because they're old, but also because they're an eye sore. They're old and chunky, and above of ugly. The they I talk about are the computers that come out several decades ago, and the cell phones that came out about one and a half decades ago. I'm also talking about the Internet, Internet 1.0. The heinously slow, and boring Internet that could only be used for school. The one where only doctors, and universities could make posts. Sure everything got better, and faster, but where are we now?
Present Technology:
We got slimmer, and better looking, that's for sure. We have Mac book Airs, and phones that are smaller than credit cards. We have smart phones that can do everything you could ever want. You can send emails to any one at any time, or, for a more immediate response, you send them a text. You can watch videos and TV shows, listen to music. pretty much everything, with a touch of a button, or it you have a touch screen, a touch of an icon. There's a constant battle between companies to have the better, faster, sexier, phone. The greatest battle, The I-phone vs the Palm pre, but it's also the I-phone vs blackberry. I have one thing to say to this, THE I-PHONE WILL NEVER LOOSE. Every time the other phone companies think they have it, BAM the i-phone gets a new app. And you know what, these app are made pretty much for free, but it'll cost you if you want it. Sure, phones are better overall, the same with computers, but do you know what got the major overhaul? The Internet. We moved from Internet 1.0, which was sluggish, and only used for school work. Now we have this crazy thing, called Internet 2.0. Social, it's all about the user. Social networks galore, I mean, this blog is a form of social networking, Face book, is the ultimate social networking, everyone has it, that's how people keep in touch with old friends. "Oh, hey, you want to come to the concert?" "Yeah, just face book me the details." We use a URL as a verb. And, because so many people have it, it has been debated whether or not that it should be allowed in school. It would enable for teachers to keep in touch with their students to make sure they understand the material being taught, you could have entire school clubs, like a leadership tea, all as one face book group. And now, you can get a court order over Twitter. It's all about the user with Internet 2.0. The youth have grown up around computers, and around smart phones, and around the Internet. It's come to the point where it seems like the youth could not, and probably would not live with out, if given the choice.
Future Technology:
It's going to be extremely thin, fast, wireless, and most importantly, fast. We aren't going to have to give google exactly what we're looking for anymore, we can just type in something that has to do with what we're looking for, ta-DA we found it. It's going to be about syntax, what we mean when we type something, and not exactly what you said. I think we're going to go more into AI as well, like with the asimo and how he can learn to recognize items, just as a child would. We're moving to a place where we're going to get machines to do all our work for us, and, just like in Wall-E we're all going to get really, really fat. It'll be fun though, the crazy movies, but instead of watching them, we'll be in them, virtually, and it'll be interactive. And the crazy graphics that we can create, soon, we won't need actors.
